  • Assembly: Bolivia has a bicameral National Congress (Congreso Nacional) consisting of the Chamber of Senators (Camara de Senadores) with 27 seats and the Chamber of Deputies (Camara de Diputados) with 130 seats.

Description of electoral system:

  • The President is elected by popular vote to serve a 5-year term.
  • In the Chamber of Senators (Camara de Senadores) 27 members are elected through a party-list proportional representation system to serve 5-year terms. In the Chamber of Deputies (Camara de Diputados), 62 members are elected through a party-list proportional representation system to serve 5-year terms and 68 members are elected by simple majority vote in single-member constituencies to serve 5-year terms.
