Last Presidential election:

• The last presidential election was held on December 8, 2002. In this election, Vojislav KOSTUNICA of the Democratic Party of Serbia, won 1,699,098 votes or 57.66 percent, while the Serbian Radical Party candidate, Vojislav SESELJ, came in second with 1,063,296 votes or 36.08 percent and Borislav PELEVIC of the Serbian Unity Party got 103,926 votes or 3.53 percent of the ballots counted. Voter turnout, however, was only 44.97% which failed to meet the 50% turnout requirement.
