A new poll by IRI shows that residents of Equatorian South Sudan have a divided view on the future of the country. While only 49 percent of residents believe that South Sudan is heading in the right direction, there is overwhelming support for President Salva Kiir and his ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement. Most residents’ concerns were centered on the economy, with 71 percent stating that their families are unable to meet basic needs. A copy of all survey results can be found here.
