Liberia held an election for 15 seats (of 30) in the Senate on Saturday 20 December 2014.[i] The election was originally scheduled for October 2014, but the outbreak of the Ebola virus in some West African countries, including Liberia, forced the election to be postponed.[ii] Located in western Africa, Liberia has a population of 4,092,310 with approximately 1,903,229 registered voters.[iii] Preliminary results are expected in the coming days and voter turnout was considered very low.[iv]
