February 6 in DC: Georgian-South Ossetian Confidence Building Processes

On February 6th, the Kennan Institute at the Wilson Center will host George Mason University Associate Professor Dr. Susan Allen Nan to discuss the Georgian-South Ossetian relationship, including insights from the 14 Georgian-South Ossetian confidence building workshops she has convened over the past three years, the most recent of which was in January.

February 13 in DC: Azerbaijan: 20 Years of Independence

On February 13th, the Kennan Institute at the Wilson Center will host Mr Hikmet Hadjy-zadeh, Reagan-Fascell Fellow at the National Endowment for Democracy, and President and Co-Founder, Far Center for Economic and Political Research in Baku, Azerbaijan. Mt Hadjy-zadeh will discuss the evolution of Azerbaijan domestic politics as well as current foreign policy.

April 30 – May 2 in Arlington, VA: InterAction Forum 2012

From April 30th – May 2nd, InterAction will host its annual forum that serves as a venue for the leadership of NGOs, governments, philanthropy, corporations and civil society to come together and forge common solutions that focus on the improvement of the lives of the world’s poor and marginalized.

May 9 – 11 at Stanford: South Asia by the Bay: A Graduate Student Conference at Stanford University

From May 9th to 11th, Stanford University will host a panel of graduate students from across disciplines and institutions in North America, who work on South Asia, to meet and discuss their work with each other, and with South Asia affiliated faculty from the organizing institutions (Stanford University, University of California, Berkeley, University of California, Davis, University of California, Santa Cruz).

July 11-14 in Austria: EVOTE2012

From July 11-14, the Competence Center for Electronic Voting and Participation will host EVOTE2012. The EVOTE2012 is the fifth international conference on electronic voting and brings together a unique international and interdisciplinary mix of academia, administration, government and industry to discuss the latest trends and developments in e-voting.
